Services description

Teens have unique nutritional needs and often need more education on how to eat in a balanced and sustainable way. This information is often received more favorably when it comes from someone other than the parents. I offer coaching for teens and young adults to help them develop health-promoting eating and exercise habits. I will also help your teen learn to be comfortable with their body image. This can be challenging in the media-driven diet culture we live in. Eating problems are common in Teens and Young Adults and pose significant risks to their health and well-being; and academic performance. An increase in eating disorders and disordered eating behaviors has been seen among Teens and Young Adults, particularly since COVID. This program is designed to help Teens and Young Adults to: Feel better physically and emotionally, reach their goals, and thrive. Promote positive body image and healthy eating Learn simple tools to put into action, achieving a positive and lasting change in their daily lives. We'll cover a variety of important topics, including: Self-esteem Positive body-image Healthy eating habits Emotional eating Eating disorders and diet Healthy Sleep Habits Manage Anxiety / Mindfulness Achieving and maintaining balance Time management Sessions are 45-60 minute, they will be weekly, bi-weekly, etc (depending on your needs) Can be done in person if you live in Connecticut, USA, or via phone or Zoom You will have Email support between sessions for when you feel stuck or just need encouragement You will get simple and healthy recipes and handouts that go along with session.
